At the end of my training as a neurologist, I did my differentiation internship 'Movement Disorders' at the Movement Disorders expertise center of the UMC Groningen and became fascinated by patients with Functional Movement Disorders. This passion has resulted in a PhD program called 'Functional Shades of Grey' and a fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, under the supervision of doctor Alex Lehn. Since June 2022 I have been working as a neurologist at the Alrijne Hospital in Leiderdorp, where I have also set up a specialized functional disorders outpatient clinic in addition to general movement disorders. In my spare time, I try to complete my PhD research and try to increase attention for these disorders and improve care in various ways.
