Two new MD/PhD students in our group

Two new MD/PhD students will join the hyperkintic movement disorders research group. These students participate in a special trajectory via the Junior Scientific Masterclass Groningen, which allows them to combine their medical internships and a PhD project. Last round, two students managed to acquire such a trajectory: Lenny Marapin and Cheryl Everlo.

Lenny will join the NEMO project, where he will investigate the functional MRI scans of patients with hyperkinetic movement disorders, to gain insight in the underlying brain networks.

Cheryl will investigate families with essential tremor, to determine which features relatives have in common and to find out more about the genetic background of this movement disorder.

We are very pround of Lenny and Cheryl and wish them good luck with their projects!
