Prof. dr. J.G.M. Rosmalen
Professor Judith GM Rosmalen is Professor of Psychosomatic Medicine at the Departments of Psychiatry and Internal Medicine of the University Medical Center Groningen. She obtained degrees in Medical Biology (University of Utrecht, 1995) and Psychology (University of Leiden, 1998, cum laude), and earned her PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam (2000) with research on interactions between the immune and endocrine systems.
Her multidisciplinary research focuses on the interplay between biomedical and psychosocial factors in health, with a particular emphasis on persistent somatic symptoms. Using both epidemiological and qualitative approaches, she studies health trajectories across the life course—from early childhood to later life. Within neurology, she is especially interested in functional neurological disorders.
